Half Term Handicrafts

The October week was a bit of a wash out, which provided the ideal opportunity to update our display area, and make a start on some handmade Christmas presents!

We got outside one morning to collect some leaves, which we pressed then used to make some lovely leaf rubbings and finally laminated them for our Autumn display. They look fantastic. We’re using the leaf rubbings to make some Flower-Faries. On the right of the display is one of the fab autumn tree pictures we made with sandwich bags, they’re a kind of leafy snow globe. Really easy to make and a little bit different.

Of course we can’t forget Hallowe’en is on the way and we had great fun making and decorating some papier mache pumpkins to take home. I think they look really cute.

I can’t tell you too much about the Christmas presents as that wouldn’t be much of a surprise, but here are a couple of sneak peeks!
